About Us

COYOTE are Marcy Brenner and Lou Castro who make Ocracoke Island, NC their home. They have an engaging and spontaneous presence that invites listeners and audiences into their proverbial living room with enchanting, intimate songs and colorful music tinged with folk, rock, blues and jazz flavors. They have their own weekly show at Deepwater Theater and Music Hall during the summer season where they are also principal performers in the Ocrafolk Opry and with Molasses Creek. COYOTE are NC Arts Council Touring Artists and appear all over the state and beyond. They are featured musicians in the Nicholas Sparks movie Nights In Rodanthe starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane. Marcy and Lou are active music educators, directing children's church music, after-school music club, youth band workshops and school residencies. All of the music in the Dead Girl Walking documentary was written, recorded and published by Marcy Brenner and Lou Castro.
